$47,000 Check to the Boys and Girls ClubWhen the VBBT began our goal was to make a difference in the local community, to give something back in return for all the support.

Every year, to help us achieve our goal, our sponsors and friends donate items for the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament Charity Auctions. This year Charles Barker Lexus once again offered up a Lexus GX-470, Steve Goione donated the 2007 original tournament Steve Goione Original Artartwork, Release Marine sent a fighting chair, and along with an array of jewelry, sculpture and sporting event tickets the VBBT was able to donate $83,000 to our charities in 2007!

This brings our total to over $315,000 given to the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Children’s Performance Workshops, the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s D.A.R.E. Program, Friends for His Children, the Recreational Fishing Alliance and The Billfish Foundation. Wow. Thank you all—obviously none of this would be possible without your continued participation!

Swordfish Flys Their Release FlagsPlease remember that the rule regarding the required use of circle hooks by anglers fishing in Atlantic Billfish Tournaments which was suspended in 2007 will be reinstated UNCHANGED at 12:01am January 1, 2008.
