In accordance with our mandate to create an event with a strong emphasis on charitable contributions, we are pleased to introduce our two beneficiaries for the inaugural VBBT.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula and Southside's mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe place to learn and grow and ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals. The Club strives to provide life-enhancing programs, character development experiences, hope and opportunity.
The Recreational Fishing Alliance is a national, grassroots political action organization representing individual sportfishermen and the sportfishing industry. The RFA's mission is to safeguard the rights of saltwater anglers, protect marine, boat and tackle industry jobs and ensure the long-term sustainability of U.S. saltwater fisheries.

Many studies have been conducted to examine foul-hooking and release mortality rates associated with hook type, and at least seven research studies have been published since 2000 that have directly compared circle hooks to similar sized J-hooks.
